Dawn Harrison-Wallace – Chair

Dawn is a Management Consultant specialising in organisational development and change management. After several years in the Oil and Gas Industry she recently moved into the Third Sector. She is also a Trustee of the Stock Exchange Dramatic and Operatic Society, and was first introduced to Half Moon in 2008 when they were looking for their first Charity of the Year.

Mark Macey – Vice Chair

Mark has worked for the BBC for many years, as a producer and project manager across various projects in radio, TV, Children’s, Learning and Archives. He has recently been working on education projects for the museums, libraries and galleries sector. Mark is passionate about theatre and attends productions regularly and also acts with amateur dramatic companies across London.

Elaine Mc Laughlin – Treasurer

Elaine is a qualified Accountant and currently works for Deutsche Bank. She has also worked for Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and PwC. She has worked in Ireland, Sudan, Congo, Mumbai and London. She joined Half Moon, drawn by what Half Moon has achieved with young people both in terms of personal confidence and education through providing access to theatre. Elaine lives in Tower Hamlets.

Heba Al-Jayoosi

Heba is an Assistant Head at a local primary school where she leads inclusion and research. She is a Specialist Leader of Education within the area of Special Educational Needs and has trained teachers and supported local schools in this field. Heba is also a Deputy Regional Lead for the East of England and North East London at Whole Schools SEND. Heba qualified as a teacher in 2006 and has worked in several inner London boroughs since. Before qualifying as a teacher, Heba was a laboratory scientist at The Anthony Nolan Trust where she carried out tissue typing of patients and donor for transplantation purposes.

Kevin Eastwood

Kevin is Head of Drama as well as a middle leader in pastoral care at a secondary school in the local area. Kevin has a background in children’s theatre following his graduation from university in 2012 and it is this experience that further drives his interest in the projects that Half Moon Theatre run – such as the hugely successful Careers in Theatre programme, which Kevin has been involved with for the last four years.

Anuradha Laws

Anuradha is Head of English at a sixth form college in North London. She has been coming to Half Moon for many years as an audience member and has always been impressed at how engaged the children are. Her daughters attend Half Moon Youth Theatres and they have all met people from different parts of Tower Hamlets through the theatre. Anuradha lives in Tower Hamlets

Mary McColgan

Mary currently leads digital, brand and marketing activity for Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends initiative, a social action movement to change perceptions about dementia. She is a Chartered Institute of Marketing qualified marketer with several years’ experience working in the non-profit and charity sectors. Interested in the theatre’s impact for young people both locally and nationally, she joined Half Moon in 2019.

Sarah Nottingham

Sarah is a Family Law Barrister, who specialises in child law and protection. Sarah works in and around London, and has extensive experience of the East London boroughs. Prior to joining the Bar, Sarah spent four years working for specialist family law solicitors and women’s aid. Sarah has undertaken voluntary work with young people in various contexts spanning many years and completed a Masters in Applied Theatre in 2015.

Tauhid Pasha

Tauhid is Senior Coordinator at the International Organisation for Migration’s UK office. IOM is part of the United Nations and Tauhid runs a programme assisting vulnerable migrants across North and West Africa. Tauhid is a qualified solicitor and was Legal Director of JCWI, one of the UK’s leading immigration campaign organisations. He is from Birmingham, where he was Chair of the Bangladeshi Youth Forum. He now lives in Tower Hamlets with his wife, who is a local teacher, and their daughter who is a keen Half Moon audience member.

James Wakefield

James is a social worker who has worked in mental health in the NHS for many years within various inner London boroughs. He attended the Half Moon in his teens as a participant and also worked at the theatre early in his career; and now his daughter attends the Half Moon Youth Theatre. He values how the theatre uses drama as a tool for learning and development; equipping children and young people with confidence, lifelong skills and friends. James lives in Tower Hamlets.
